Background

Meltdown is progressive producer Adam Tandowski (aka Dj aDaM T). Based in Sydney, Australia, Adam has been DJ'ing and promoting at parties since the early 90's. Responsible for running Australias main online trance & psytrance portal - Australiens.net, Adam DJ's and performs live acts regularily in Sydney as well as nationally and internationally alongside some of the biggest trance acts in the scene. Having recently returned from a tour of Europe, Meltdown is back at work in the studio.

Meltdown writes quality daytime progressive with a tribal, driving feel that has been described as a "late morning festival" sound. With the fresh Australian open outback influence, Meltdown creates inspiring music that is recieved with great feedback the world round. With releases on Vibrating Balance, Electric Power Pole Records, upcoming releases on Floatation and ZMA Records, and an album in the pipeline, Meltdown is an artist to keep an eye on amidst a very strong, rapidly growing presence from quality labels, artists & dj's down under.

The Project

The project name, Meltdown, takes inspiration from a phenomena experienced after witnessing long trance sets. As the mind starts to tune in to the music, and settle into the trance state (the zone), and particularily through loud, clear sound systems, the music seems to come alive and almost obtain a more 3 dimensional or 'liquid' sounding state. Close mixes will cause a slight flange effect, and the rhythm, kick, bassline & sounds start to breathe, and become full and dynamic in nature. In this state the music & sound waves appears to 'melt down' into an apparent state of liquid sound.
